IS HOT.

Friday, January 30th, 2009

Summer has truly kicked in - with SA & VIC feeling it’s full force! 35 degrees at 2.30am - can that be possible? Anyway - if you can, the beach is a great way to get some respite. Make sure you hydrate, apply sunscreen and have access to shade.

We’ll get through this together!

TIPS FOR A SUNNYLIFE

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

Me & BeachDear SunnyLIFEr’s,

Happy 2009! Sorry for the delayed wishes but I’ve been on holiday (you know how it is).

I hope all of you got a chance to enjoy some time in the sunshine with your favourite people. That’s exactly what I did in Hawaii. What a place – beautiful beaches, friendly people, stunning tropic vistas and a very relaxed approach to life. Definitely my kind of destination.

Of course my holiday affirms my desire to spread the concept of a SunnyLIFE! With some of the negativity in the world at the moment I thought it might help to  highlight some of the positivity that exists when life is sunny.

So as a start to 2009, I’d like to offer some tips on how to enjoy the rest of your summer and make your life more sunny!

1. Next time you’re on a busy beach spend some time with your eyes closed – just listen to the ambient noise. In my opinion there is no better sound.

2. Go for a walk with someone special (friend, lover, pet?). Shoot the breeze and look around – it can be really calming.

3. Make a gigantic salad and share it around – the perfect summer meal.

4. Plan activities for your weekend that you’ll actually look forward to during the week.

5. Don’t check stock reports, check the forecast at your favourite beach. If the weather’s good – go there. Remember, the beach is free!

OK - I’m done being Oprah for today.

I’m back in the office today where I’ve started the delicate process of converting my post-holiday glow into product development for our new ranges. I promise there won’t be a grass skirt in our new collection!

Aloha,

Joel.
