RETAILER PROFILE – OUTDOORS ON PARADE

Today marks the addition of a new element to ‘Joel Says’ with our very first Retailer Profile. During the season I will visit some of our fabulous retailers and get to know their stores a little better.
The first cab off the rank is the famous Outdoors on Parade in Norwood, South Australia. Annie, Jo, Oodle, Zoe and all the girls have created a beautiful lifestyle store just outside Adelaide’s CBD. We always look forward to seeing the girls at trade fairs, so my store visit was long overdue. The store is an institution in Adelaide – with a fantastic product mix and some unique elements like regular cooking classes with top South Australian chefs (which I should definitely book myself in for).
Annie, Outdoor’s founder, was kind enough to pose outside the store and to answer the following questions:

25 years, so we have some big celebrations coming up!
WHAT IS OOP FAMOUS FOR?
Our superb and diverse product and amazing service.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU STOCKED THE SUNNYLIFE RANGE?
5 years – since the very beginning I think.
WHY DOES SUNNYLIFE FIT SO WELL IN YOUR STORE?
SunnyLIFE adds a fun and colourful element combined with necessary and beautiful outdoor products. Our customers recognise the brand and look forward to the new ranges.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE PRODUCT FROM OUR RANGE THIS SEASON?
That’s a difficult question - I love it all but will have to go for the red and white stripe deck chair. We have them out the front and they are running out!!
YOUR STORE IS CALLED ‘OUTDOORS ON PARADE’, IS IT FAIR TO ASSUME YOU’RE AN OUTDOORSY PERSON?
We were trying to rent out the space and we “lent” it to someone making outdoor furniture! Since then we have metamorphosed in to a stunning lifestyle store.
WHERE IS YOUR FAVOURITE BEACH DESTINATION?
South Australia has many beautiful beaches such as Goolwa, however beyond SA I love Noosa.
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS SUMMER?
Staying at our farm on the South Coast, entertaining with my blue and white SunnyLIFE napery and Italian china (soon to be seen in our catalogue and on our web site). Also looking forward to sunny days on Goolwa beach with all of our SunnyLIFE gear and playing beach cricket with my kids.
