SunnyLIFE Spotlight

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

As a feature of the blog I’m going to include something called ‘SunnyLIFE Spotlight’ this is going to be a small interview with someone who has an association with the brand. (E.g. A member of the SunnyLIFE team, a SunnyLIFE retailer, an end consumer, my mum, etc).

The first cab of the rank is someone from SunnyLIFE HQ.

1) NAME: Annika Seidel

2) HOW DO YOU HELP CREATE A SUNNYLIFE? I’m SunnyLIFE’s designer.

3) WHICH IS YOUR FAVOURITE BEACH? Anywhere with my friends & a boogie board!

4) WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SUMMER FRUIT? Cherries & pineapple. And mango. Can’t decide!

5) WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING A MEMBER OF THE SUNNYLIFE TEAM? Developing the new ranges. I love researching trends and figuring out what everyone will want to buy next summer.

6) WHATS FOR LUNCH? Leftover risotto from last night - chicken, spinach & lemon, mmm.

7) WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE ITEM FROM THE NEW SEASONS RANGES AND WHY?:Definitely the Bondi Stripe towel - I love the colour combination. And I’ll always have a soft spot for Peking, the giant inflatable duck.

8) SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE? I dance in the kitchen while I wait for dinner to cook, but my housemates laugh at me. So, no.

9) WHAT PRODUCT DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD MAKE NEXT? A string of inflatable ducklings to follow Peking around.

10) ANYTHING YOURE DESPERATE TO SHARE WITH THE WORLD:This photo of me was taken by my boyfriend on his CMYK Holga. It’s a double exposure of me & my rabbit sculptures that sit on top of the TV. We both collect cameras - recent finds are the Holga, a mauve spy camera bought second hand for $2, and a cardboard pinhole camera from Japan, complete with a panda face printed on the front!

Thanks for the memories…

Joel takes a standAnother Melbourne Gift Fair is over and there are so many memories - the oppressive central heating, the natural light deprivation, the questionable sandwich fillings, the car park fights…  Magic!

It was, however, great to see so many familiar and friendly faces and get a chance to show retailers our ranges in person. The response we had was fantastic, and as SunnyLIFE’s Creative Director, incredibly gratifying.

Special credit must go to Paul and Kelly for their hard work over the 5 days. Kelly - SunnyLIFE’s Sales Manager, in particular, was battling through jetlag and a Mykonos leg injury, yet managed to maintain a sunny disposition for the whole fair. Well done!

See you in Sydney next month.
